Most coaches don't think about payments until something goes wrong: a client in another country, a card that fails, a fee that eats into a big invoice. A simple, well chosen setup saves money, time and a few awkward emails.
Stripe for checkout and subscriptions
When clients pay online, through a checkout page, a payment plan or a subscription, Stripe is our go-to. It connects to almost every tool, handles failed payments for you and can trigger your onboarding automatically the moment someone pays.
Wise and Payoneer for international transfers
Wise is brilliant for moving money between currencies at a fair rate, and Payoneer is handy if you work through marketplaces or with clients who prefer it.
Invoicing without the chasing
If you send a lot of invoices and contracts, a tool like HoneyBook keeps proposals, contracts and payments in one place, with reminders that go out on their own.
PayPal, the budget-friendly option
There's no monthly fee to get started, and many clients already have an account, which makes it an easy first setup. Keep an eye on the transaction fees as you grow.
Look at your last ten payments. If you spent time chasing any of them, that is where a better payment setup will pay for itself first.
