CRM stands for customer relationship management. In plain English, it is one place where you keep track of everyone you are talking to: leads, current clients and past clients, plus what is happening with each of them.
What it replaces
For most coaches, the alternative is a mix of DMs, an inbox, sticky notes and a spreadsheet that is always slightly out of date. It works, until someone slips through the cracks and you realise you forgot to follow up with a person who was ready to buy.
What a simple CRM does for you
- Shows every lead and where they are, from first message to signed client
- Reminds you when it is time to follow up
- Keeps notes from every call, so you never start from scratch
- Connects to your booking, emails and payments, so updates happen on their own
Do you need a fancy one?
No. Many coaches do beautifully with a well set up Notion or Airtable board, or the free version of a tool like HubSpot. What matters is that it's connected to the rest of your systems and that you actually enjoy opening it.
If you have ever forgotten to reply to someone who wanted to work with you, that is your sign. A simple CRM pays for itself the first time it stops that from happening.
